Anquestria - a My Little Pony Angband variant

Tons of new team members, lots of progress, new download!

Despite the lack of updates on the blog here, we've been getting a lot done on the Anquestria Development Team.

We've got awesome designs coming together thanks to our designers, and some code changes are now live in Anquestria 0.12. We've got some great changes in the pipeline too (like a random pony name generator. The best I've seen, if I may be so bold).

Download the newest version of Anquestria in the sidebar to the right. There's a nice streamlined version of the game with only what you need, or you can grab the entire source code.

But what changes were made?
Ranged attacks were changed to be more logical (they benefit from gear +damage) and be more balanced.
Griffons are a new player race, complete with unique benefits and backstory.
Alicorns are no longer selectable. They will be re-added as an unlockable race later :)
Many minor changes.

If you already have Anquestria and want to update to the new version, just do one of these:
Paste the new Anquestria folder over your old one, and let it overwrite. Your save files should be safe and sound.
Or, copy your Anquestria/lib/save and /lib/user folders, and your anquestria.ini, over to the new folder.

The Anquestria forums are now active and ready for discussion. If you have any interest in Anquestria, as a developer or player, please check them out and participate.

We'll be using these forums to take feedback from players/testers, coordinate development, track all non-code development, such as text changes and design (code changes will be handled through Github).

If want to help Anquestria in the easiest way ever, just spread the word. More bronies need to know about the awesomeness that is Angband+Ponies.

Anquestria is once again available for download in the Links section (or here: https://github.com/downloads/natron77/Anquestria/Anquestria_0.11.zip).

If you want to just play the game, or if you want to test, get the game zip above.
If you want to be a tester, just play the game and give feedback :) I'll post all new changes here on the blog, and we can coordinate to make sure they all get at least some testing.
If you want to help retheme text (change the Tolkien themed item names, unique enemies, etc), download the game, and browse and learn the files in lib/edit. Edit those files with wordpad, etc.
If you want to contribute new gameplay designs, play the game, and write out concepts for features to implement.

I'm working on getting a simple repository for non-code changes like the text files and designs. Once that's up, we can all post and discuss our changes.

EDIT: Because of the GPL license on Angband, I had take down the download until I post the source code. I promise I'll get that up tonight, and the compiled executable will be back up too!

Note that normal Angband characters and settings files are not likely to work for Anquestria, and they most certainly won't after some more planned changes are made. But that doesn't matter because you came here to play as a pony, right?

I'll be posting the source code tomorrow so contributors can help out, and for people that just want to compile it themselves.

Angband is a "roguelike" RPG, which has somehow stayed strong and enjoyable for 20 years despite its utter lack of ponies.
I fixed that.

Enter Anquestria, a My Little Pony variant on Angband.
I've already made enough changes to make the game feel like My Little Pony, but a great deal of work remains to make this a fully fledged My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic RPG.
